Since the academician Wang Zhongcheng set up the Capital medical university affiliated Beijing Tiantan hospital neuroimaging centre in 1980, With the unremitting endeavor of all the staff in the department, it becomes a modernize department with advanced equipment, characteristic medical service and successful scholarship with the solid foundation made by radiologists of old generation like Song Zunwu and Lu Rongqing, especially by the guidance of the hospital director Dai Jianping. In 1998, it was approved as disciplines for doctorate degree granting and center for post-doctoral studies, now it’s the most famous centre of neuroimaging research and medical care.
Advance equipment: The neuroimaging centre possesses of 5 platforms of MRI system, 3 platforms of CT machine, 3 platform of DSA facility, a platform of ECD machine and a platform of color Doppler ultrasonograph machine at present. Besides, the image facilities and associates assorted reprocessing softwares always set the pace in China and keep international level basically. Moreover, neuroimaging centre is in possession of the most advanced pure digital PACS system in China, which can elevate the preservation quality of images obviously and assist the clinic better.
Tremendous technical force: There are 5 professors and chief doctors, 3 associate chief doctors, 2 doctorial tutors and 3 master tutors in the neuroimaging centre. Furthermore, 4 people have doctor’s degree and 5 people have master’s degree in the centre. Most of them have specialized knowledge of a subject. The discipline leaders hospital director Dai Jianping and professor Gao Peiyi have highly attainment in the research of neuroimaging, they are known as “eyes of god” and their diagnosis are deemed to “preoperative pathological diagnosis”.
Significant Medical Characteristics: Neuroimaging center introduced the advanced crisscross management system firstly, in which technicians and nurses are grouped according to the equipment, managed vertically, while the doctors are grouped horizontally and ratated termly. This management system drives discipline construction vastly and established our medical charactristics gradually. The leading position of Beijin Tiantan Hospital neurosurgery department lay a solid foundation for the development of neuroimaging science, vice versa, the rapid growth of neuroimaging science provided a strong support for the development of neurology and neurosurgery, including the clinical, teaching and research work.
