The Department of Vascular Surgery of Beijing Tiantan Hospital was established in 2018, and the first head of the department is Prof. Jia Yulong. After years of development, it has now become a first-class vascular surgery specialty department in China, integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and prevention, with distinctive disciplinary characteristics. The current head of the department is Prof. Shen Chenyang, Chief Physician, PhD (Postdoctoral) Supervisor.

The department has 15 fixed beds and 6 doctors, including 3 chief physicians, 1 deputy chief physician and 2 attending physicians. It is the main committee unit of the Specialized Committee on Vascular Surgery of the Chinese Society of Pharmaceutical Education, the main committee unit of the Surgical Medical Engineering and Translational Society of the Medical Engineering Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and the main committee unit of the Expert Committee on Chinese and Western Vascular Diseases of the Asia-Pacific Vascular Academic Alliance.

Scope of vascular surgery:

1. Aortic diseases: aortic dissection, thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysm, aortoiliac artery occlusion, etc.

2. Cranio-cerebral artery diseases: carotid artery stenosis, subclavian artery stenosis, vertebral artery stenosis, carotid and vertebral artery aneurysm, etc;

3. Visceral artery diseases: renal artery stenosis, renal artery aneurysm, superior mesenteric artery thrombosis, splenic artery aneurysm, etc;

4. Lower extremity arterial diseases: lower extremity atherosclerotic occlusive disease, thromboembolic vasculitis, diabetic foot, etc;

5. Diseases of the venous system: varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs, pulmonary embolism, Budd-Chiari Syndrome, etc;
