The advanced organized medical service not only further reduces the mortality and disability rate of patients but also effectively shortens the hospitalization time of patients, reduces the treatment cost of patients, and achieves good social and economic benefits.
The Department of Vascular Neurology is driven by clinical research. It has established a national clinical research network and a big data platform for clinical research on cerebrovascular diseases, especially the multicenter, randomized, double-blind, parallel-controlled study of clopidogrel in combination with aspirin versus aspirin alone for the treatment of people at high risk of acute non-disabling cerebrovascular events (referred to as the CHANCE study) under the leadership of Professor Yongjun Wang, published in 2013 in The CHANCE study was published in the New England Journal in 2013, rewriting clinical guidelines for acute stroke and secondary prevention of cerebrovascular disease in the US, Canada, UK, and China. He has become the world's number one scholar in cerebrovascular disease (stroke and transient ischemic attack research topics) regarding the number of publications and total citations in the past five years.
In recent years, the Department of Vascular Neurology has been selected as a national key discipline by the Ministry of Education, a national clinical key specialty by the Ministry of Health, a research innovation team for cerebrovascular disease prevention and treatment by the Ministry of Science and Technology, a medical quality control team for cerebrovascular disease by the National Health Commission, and the establishment of a first-level society in the field of cerebrovascular disease.
