Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery Ward 3
The Cerebrovascular Ward 3 of Neurosurgery Department at Beijing Tiantan Hospital (formerly known as the Neurointerventional Department and Neurointerventional Center) was established in 1996. It is the earliest specialized neurointerventional center in China dedicated to the treatment of cerebrovascular diseases of the brain and spinal cord. Former directors of the department have included Professor Prof. Zhongxue Wu, Prof. Youxiang Li, and Prof. Zhongrong Miao. In September 2022, it became part of the Department of Neurosurgery and established the Cerebrovascular Ward 3, with Professor Yang Xinjian as the current department director. The department currently has 21 doctors, including 7 doctoral supervisors, 11 master's supervisors, 11 chief physicians, and 5 associate chief physicians. There are currently 34 beds, equipped with 6 catheter operating rooms and 2 hybrid operating rooms. Over 8,000 cases of cerebral vascular interventional treatment and angiography are performed each year, along with over 400 cases of craniotomy and complex surgeries. The interventional combined treatment for hemorrhagic and ischemic cerebrovascular diseases is at an internationally advanced level. We also provide diagnosis and treatment for spinal vascular disorders and cerebral venous diseases. Building upon our existing clinical knowledge, we strive for continuous breakthroughs in clinical theory, clinical research, and fundamental research.
